The Burke Museum has acquired Alison Bremner’s piece, “Raven’s Cloak” for their permanent collection. (Pictured on display at Here & Now: Native Artists Inspired.)
“Raven’s Cloak” is a dance blanket made of wool and vintage glass beads. The piece was inspired by a study of Tlingit regalia, and imagined as a continuation of the traditional art forms. The design depicts the wings, body and tail of a Raven.
“Raven’s Cloak” will be on display at the Burke Museum through July 27, 2015.
