“Guiding Eagle” is a dance apron that depicts an Eagle carrying a copper shield, with a human face in each wing. This symbolizes the meeting of two clans thousands of years ago, the Galyix Kaagwaantaan and the K’ineix Kwaan. The two clans met at a pivotal point in their migration and eventually settled in Yakutat, Alaska. The apron was created to honor their meeting and my ancestors, both past and future.
